He was predeceased by his dad, mom, 3 brothers, and 1 sister. He is survived by 4 sisters Mina Kerkhof from Vernon, Dina (Jack) Vandermuelen from Abbotsford, Gertie (Ralph) Maarhuis from Mission, Trena (Lawrence) Hooiveld from Abbotsford; 3 brothers Jelte (Marie) Ganzeveld from West Kelowna, Herman (Pat) Ganzeveld from Harrison Hot Springs, Joe (Gerdy) Ganzeveld from Abbotsford; sistersin law Patsy Ganzeveld from Abbotsford and Shirley (Jerry) Powers from Abbotsford. He is also survived by numerous nieces and aunts. Richard was born in Westerenden Holland. He immigrated to Canada with his parents and family from Holland in 1952. He had 6 brothers and 5 sisters when they moved to Tabor Alberta and eventually to Abbotsford BC. in 1954. Richard was in the construction industry in the Fraser Valley area until his death. He passed away peacefully after losing his battle to cancer at Abbotsford Regional Hospital & Cancer Clinic. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and hospital staff for the excellent care and compassion given to him in his last days with us.
