James (Stan) Stanley Doucette

August 4, 1938 - April 13, 2022

Tribute

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Stan,  peacefully in hospital in Surrey, BC.

Stan will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years Sue, daughter Erin  (Peter),  son Glen, grandson Brenden, sister Mary (Dave),  nieces , nephews,  cousins.

Stan was a humble and hardworking man whose greatest treasure was his family.  He was born in Charlottetown PEI, joined  the RCAF at 17 where he  launched  his career in electronics. He later worked on Canada’s Distant  Early Warning Line and Mid Canada Line during the Cold War. Following that  he worked for International  Telephone and Telegraph, finally joining the  RCMP as a civilian member in 1979.

In his retirement he loved to travel  with Sue and spend time in their  winter nest  in Arizona enjoying the sunshine with many friends and  neighbours.

Private family arrangements are being made.
Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the BC Kidney Foundation.

Rest in Peace Dear Stan! Stan loved sitting in the sun and had a joy for reading. We enjoyed many fun patio parties. You will be missed. Deepest sympathy to Sue, Erin (Peter), Glen, Brenden. Love and Prayers.

From: Brenda Coburn
Relation: Neighbour

Stan was a great neighbour. He always had a smile for you. I remember him zipping around the complex on his yellow scooter chasing Brenden on his bike. If it was a sunny day you could be sure to find Stan on the deck enjoying the heat.
Our deepest condolences to Sue and family.
