Tadeusz Kuczynski

June 27, 1959 - May 8, 2023

Tribute

With deep sorrow, we inform you that Tadeusz Kuczynski, age 63, passed away peacefully on May 8th, 2023. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

Tadeusz Kuczynski was born in Warsaw, Poland in 1959, when the city was being rebuilt from ground up after being destroyed during the Second World War. From early childhood, he has always valued close friendships beyond anything else.

In his early youth, he developed a strong love of music, learning to play the trumpet in a brass band, following in his uncle’s footsteps. He also was attracted to studying martial arts to remain capable of self-discipline and self-defense.

While living in Poland, he married his wife Anna and they had a lovely daughter Judy, who he adored. He also thoroughly enjoyed playing in bands such as the well-known reggae band named Izrael and had been teaching Tai Chi and Kung Fu to many groups in the Warsaw Culture Centre.

After immigrating to Canada with his family, he strove to re-establish his sense of purpose through continuing to teach Tai Chi and playing music. He created events open to the Abbotsford community that involved doing Tai Chi in local parks and served on the Abbotsford Arts Council, spending many years taking care of the Kariton Art Gallery.

More recently, he had been consistently teaching trumpet at King’s Music. Aside from inspiring people in the local community, he poured his heart into maintaining relationships with his family and friends locally and abroad.

Tadeusz was a true artist, who contributed to many community events over the years. He was an incredibly genuine soul with limitless positive energy and spirit, cheering others up till his last days.

In his last two years after being diagnosed with cancer, he spent a lot of time consistently calling and checking up on those around him. He also fell deeply in love with his granddaughter, Kaia, who he wanted to spend all his time with.

He lived in Canada for much of his life, but he had two hearts, and two homes, one in Canada, and one in Poland. He kept his relations with family and friends alive regardless of the distance, often calling people just to say that he loves them.

Those who know him are encourage to share their memories on the Facebook group titled “In loving memory of Tadeusz Kuczynski”.

Tadziu, we miss you so much.
