Tribute

On June 7, 2016, Bob's journey of life was ended suddenly by a heart attack at age 68. He is survived by his wife Karin McClain, brothers David and John (Jennifer), four children, two stepchildren, five grandchildren, a niece, nephew and several cousins.  Born in Montreal, Bob grew up in North Vancouver, graduating from Delbrook High School in 1966. He had a passion for the military and was recruited into the Canadian Forces Officer Training Program, studying at Simon Fraser University and training at CFB Chilliwack. In 1968, a medical discharge      ended Bob's hope for a military career but he remained active as a reservist with the British Columbia Regiment, rising to the rank of Captain. Bob worked for several years as a passenger agent at YVR for Canadian Pacific Airlines and Air Canada, receiving several commendations from passengers.  He developed a passion for raising and caring for dogs with Karin, especially Samoyeds, and together they won several awards in dog shows across North America. Bob was quietly devoted to his family, relatives and friends throughout his life and was especially generous with his time and gift-giving to those he cared about. A celebration of Bob's life was held on Sunday, July 10 at 2pm at the Pacific Inn Resort, 1160 King George Blvd, Surrey, BC.
