Rhonda (Ronnie) Lynne Darnelle McStravick
February 12, 1959 - July 26, 2024
Tribute
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Rhonda McStravick, on July 26, 2024. Better known as ‘Ronnie’ to close friends and family, her humour, generosity of spirit and authentic, genuine nature will be greatly missed. The last decade of life became more challenging as time went on, and she succumbed to her ailments with close family by her side. Rhonda grew up in Ontario, finding a career as a fast order cook, working primarily at McDonald’s in Guelph. In 2004 Rhonda moved to Mission, BC to live with family, continuing her work life at the local A&W until 2016 when her medical conditions progressed to where she was no longer able to continue employment. Rhonda always kept a positive disposition, and never complained about the pain or discomfort she felt during her medical ailments, alternatively bringing smiles to many faces of the wonderful caregivers she encountered on her journey.
Predeceased by her mother, Barbara McStravick in 2003, Rhonda is survived by her sister, Terry Lynn (Christopher Lonsdale), brother, Scott, nephew, Tyler (Kari Ann Brown), nieces Amber and Amy (Hunter Nitsch) Desilets, great niece (Sylvie), as well as extended family, Nancy Milton, Melissa Milton, Brodie and Dylan Lineker. The family would like to express their appreciation to all the caregivers, doctors and medical professionals that provided kind, compassionate care for Rhonda. In particular, the incredible staff at The Cedars, where Rhonda lived the final 2 years of her life. A Celebration of Life will take place in Ontario at a date yet to be determined. May Rhonda rest in eternal peace now, free from the challenges and pain attached to our earthly existence. We will forever hold her dear memory in our hearts.
