Patrick (Allen) Allen Kyte

December 22, 1970 - January 24, 2019

Tribute

Kyte, Patrick Allen  December 22, 1970 – January 24, 2019
Allen Kyte passed away suddenly at age 48 of cardiac arrest at home in the early hours of Thursday, January 24, 2019.
Beloved husband of Ania Kyte. Loving father of Alexander Kyte and Anderson Kyte. Cherished brother of Jennifer, Sarah, and Marissa. Survived by his parents, Patricia and Gary Kyte. Pre-deceased by his grandmother, Christine Cameron.
Allen was born in Campbellford, ON, and raised in the Belleville, ON area. In high school, Allen excelled in provincial chess tournaments, and placed second only to his long-time best friend, Tom Lyons (godfather to his sons). Allen then completed his college diploma in Law and Security at Loyalist College. He went on to receive a double major undergraduate degree in Criminology and Psychology from the University of Ottawa.
After marrying Ania in 1997, Allen moved to British Columbia to pursue a career in mediation and correctional services. After deciding to home school his two sons, he took on a position of manager at Mission City Farmer’s Market, as well as landscaping foreman at Terra Effects, a local landscaping firm which had inspired him to dream of starting his own landscaping business.
Allen was an avid reader and a motorcycle enthusiast. He loved open water and completed PADI certification to the scuba dive master instructor level. He enjoyed spending time with his family, either skiing in the winter or hiking in the summer with their three dogs. Allen particularly enjoyed receiving random phone calls from friends and family chanting “Allen, Allen, Steve, Steve.”
Cremation will take place at a private service. Allen’s family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, February 1, 2019 at their home in Mission, for an informal celebration of life.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Mission City Farmer’s Market would be appreciated by the family.  Donations can be made online at www.missioncityfarmersmarket.com.
