Louise Sawula (nee Krenn) passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, in Surrey, BC.

She was predeceased by her father, Joseph Krenn, and mother, Anne Krenn (Hargarten), husband, Peter Sawula and brother-in-law, Terry Evans.

She will be sadly missed by sisters Therese Chicoine(Denis), Mary Rose Evans, Marg Hardy(Noel) and Kathy (Victor Lipp), brothers Lambert (Paulette Webber), Richard (Brenda) and many loving nieces and nephews, as well as many close, lifelong friends.

Lou was born in Cudworth, Saskatchewan, on August 2nd, 1941, residing in Saskatoon until 2023, then moving to Surrey, BC, to be closer to family.

Lou’s career was spent as a Nursing Assistant in Saskatoon, dedicated to the babies in the Neonatal unit.

She was strong-willed and quick-witted, always ready with a snappy comeback, emphasizing her sense of humour.

She and Pete enjoyed many fishing trips together with their dogs and had a ritual at Tim Hortons for early-morning coffee gatherings with friends.

She had a strong devotion to her family and friends and will always be fondly remembered by all.

Bakerview Community Crematorium & Celebration Centre Staff send our condolences to family and friends.

From: Luba Atamanenko
Relation: My best buddy at Genesee View.

I’m still reeling and can’t face the fact that my dear friend is gone. We had a special friendship even though although our frienship took off when I moved into Genesee View. There were so many special moments and a few difficult times for us both. Memories will stay forever and I know we shall see each other in the not too distant future.

I send my deepest sympathy to her wonderful brothers and sisters who so wisely relocated Lou, at exactly the right moment, to the West Coast. My biggest hugs to everyone for looking after Lou.

From: Eileen (Hautzinger) & Glen Roles
Relation: Cousin

We were sorry to read Louise’s obituary in the Star Phoenix. Our deepest condolences to you all, Therese, Lambert, Richard, Maryrose, Margaret & Cathy. It is sad that our families never get together anymore – so many good memories of the times we did. Our love & sympathy to you all. RIP Louise.
