Lorraine Kathleen Meller
May 22, 1942 – June 27, 2026

Lorraine lived a life rooted in faith and devoted to serving Jesus Christ which shaped how she loved, prayed, and cared for others.

Lorraine was multi-talented and capable, with a life full of creativity, work, and adventure. But more than anything, she wanted to be remembered for “what she did for the Lord.”

Her heart for ministry touched many places, but she held a special fondness for her time at the airport. For 12 years she served with the Vancouver Airport Chaplaincy, and then continued for decades as a Greencoat, ministering to travelers, families, and emergency personnel. As led by the Holy Spirit, she prayed for people, offered comfort, and was a listening ear in times of crisis, working alongside the RCMP and other agencies.

Beyond the airport, Lorraine was a “prayer warrior,” devoting countless hours to praying for individual needs.  She supported Christian ministries worldwide — missionaries, Bible translation, radio ministries, evangelistic outreaches, and charitable organizations. She was passionate about people knowing Christ and rejoiced in every chance to encourage faith. Through her testimony, letters, visits, mentoring, and personal witness, she helped lead many to faith in Jesus.

Lorraine didn’t serve from a distance. She served with her hands, time, and heart — praying with people, writing encouraging notes, remembering birthdays and milestones, and being a trusted source of wisdom and support for family throughout BC & Alberta and for friends around the world.

She now rests in the presence of the Savior she loved so dearly.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, July 31^st at 1pm at Lighthouse Church in Ladner BC, located at 5545 Ladner Trunk Rd, Delta BC
