Tribute

Keath(William James)Barnett

April 5,1942-December 19th,2023

In Loving Memory

It is with much sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our amazing Husband, Dad, Papa, Brother and Uncle – Keath Barnett.

Predeceased by Father Jim Barnett, Mother Hazel Charters and Stepfather Bill Charters, Brother-in-law Ken Trigg.

Survived by Wife of 58 years, Gail, daughter Sherry(Mark Omelaniec),grandson Mikhail, step-grandsons, Clint, Max and Drew. Survived by sister Cory Trigg, nieces and nephews.

Born in New Westminster,B.C, Keath grew up in Cloverdale, B.C. working and helping out on the family farm. Going to school at Lord Tweedsmuir in Cloverdale. After leaving school, Keath worked for Butler Bros as a heavy-duty mechanic. Then found his love for driving truck and worked for Westcoast Reduction before buying his 1st gravel truck (one of many) and worked for B&B Construction for many years until retirement. When he wasn’t working he took every opportunity to do his favorite things.  Keath loved his years of racing jeeps, four wheeling, camping with all his family and many friends, hunting with his nephew Greg, and just sitting in the back yard with a fire going.

We will miss you and your gruff and tough love you showed us all. The man with a large and loud presence and an even bigger heart. Remember, “If you are going to do a job, do it right and do it right the first time”.

Keath was a resident of Clayton Care for 6 years prior to his death.

Love you Forever and Always

Keath, enjoy that endless jeep track in the sky. I can attest to the quote, do it right and do it right the first time. The home we purchased from you and Gail, that we lived and enjoyed for 10 years proved your integrity to build something well that will endure. We called it “Keath Proof”. Rest in Peace, you are missed and loved big guy!
