In Loving Memory of Juan Duarosan (Tatay)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Juan Duarosan, lovingly known as Tatay, at the age of 95.
Juan was born in Binalonan, Pangasinan, Philippines, and immigrated to Canada in 1994. He made his home in Surrey, BC, where he lived a full and active life.
He was a devoted father to seven children, and a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In the Philippines, Juan worked as a farmer and carpenter – trades that reflected his hardworking spirit and dedication to his family. After moving to Canada, he remained active, going on daily walks and delivering the local newspaper for several years.
He enjoyed watching television shows such as The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and the Filipino variety show Eat Bulaga. Juan had a sharp mind and loved completing thousands of word search puzzles while listening to Ilocano music from his hometown on YouTube.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Fortunata, and his son, Carlos.
We love you forever and will miss you dearly, Tatay.
