Tribute

Joanne passed peacefully in Mission, BC closest to the dearest things in her heart, her son and daughter Michael (Rachel) and Kellie, loving husband John, brother Rod, nephew Colby, and her 3 grandchildren Caleb, Marleigh and Madeline, and dear friend Lynne. Born in Vancouver, BC and raised in West Vancouver, Joanne was predeceased by and deeply missed her parents, Jack and Addie Sims. Raised by a fun-loving Welsh family, she was always surrounded by many close friends, cousins and aunts who cared deeply for her infectious love of life, sense of humour and quick wit. Joanne took her greatest pleasure in people, laughing and hosting others with her welcoming and warm embrace. Of course this was always made all the better by a good BC Lions game, a cuddly dog or grandchild and a cold ginger ale. Gifted with the ability to work and care for those who needed her most, her passing is a tremendous loss but leaves us with the beautiful memories of Joanne’s genuine, fun spirit and her lasting reminder to us about the most important treasures in our lives.
