JASON WADE BLACK
APRIL 5, 1972 (Campbell River, BC) – MAY 10, 2020 (Ruskin, BC)
The family of the late Jason Wade Black are heartbroken to announce Jason’s sudden passing at home May 10, 2020. He was welcomed in Heaven by his Auntie Wanita, Grandpa Veresh, Nana and Papa Black, and all his Great Grandparents. He leaves behind his parents Bev and Rick Black, brother Robbie (Louisa), his adored children Jacob and Sadie and their mother Simone Black, Auntie Sheri Black, Grandmother Veresh, and many other relatives and friends. Jason’s biggest love was his family and was so proud of his children and the amazing adults they are becoming. His working career was as a tugboat Captain for Catherwood Towing. Jason had a passion for adventure, canoeing, hiking, camping, wilderness exploring, hunting, fishing, finding antique memorabilia, creating unique keepsakes from wood, music and riding his dirt bike and Harley. He found peace in nature. Jason loved everyone and had the biggest amazing smile that warmed your heart and made you smile. His contagious laugh and sparkling eyes lifted your spirit. A celebration of life will be planned and in lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Abbotsford Salvation Army Meal Centre. Rest in Peace dear Son – we will love you forever.

I would very much like to express my sincere condolences to Jason’s family and particularly to Sadie and Jacob. It is unimaginable to think if the loss and grief that would come from having someone as vibrant and outgoing as Jason to suddenly and inexplicably disappear from life. I spent a lot of time with Jason at various times in his life and I got to know him well, including his competitive nature which nearly did in the pair of us on walk around the lake at Ruskin. I as the old guy thought I had to at least keep up with Jason, the younger guy, and he thought he had to at least stay ahead of the old guy, thus we made the trip in very quick time and showed up totally worn out at the end of the trip, where the discussion that followed made it pretty clear that we had kept the throttles floored for no purpose other than to avoid looking a tad weak. Memorable.
My particular condolences to Sadie and Jacob…I hope both you hold up and remember the good times with your Dad. If you need anything and I can help, please give me a call any time.
