James A. Himbeault
September 7, 1943 – December 31, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James A. Himbeault, known to those who loved and cared for him as Jim, on December 31, 2025, at the age of 82.
Jim was a gentle, kind, and private man who lived life on his own quiet terms. A true whiz at electronics, his sharp mind and steady hands served him well across a remarkably varied career that included a short stint in the military, work as a prison guard, a photographer, a TV repairman, a bartender and many years as an apartment manager — skills that earned him the trust and gratitude of neighbors and friends. He could build a computer out of nothing but bits and pieces.
Jim was born on September 7, 1943, and grew up as one of eight siblings, a large family that shaped the humble and quiet man he became.
He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Bessie Himbeault, and by his brothers Albert, Richard, Terrance, and Larry, who no doubt welcomed him home.
Jim is survived by his sisters Janice and Judy, and his brother Brian, along with many nieces and nephews who will carry his memory in their hearts.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at a later date. Those who knew him are invited to honor his memory in the quiet, understated way he would have appreciated — with kindness, patience, and a little curiosity about how things worked.
We would like to thank Pleasantview Housing in Mission for their warm and compassionate care of Jim for more than 10 years and to Mayfair Senior Living + Care where he lived for the last year of his life.
If you wish you can contact Janice at 604-302-1575 for information on the Celebration of his Life to follow.
