Imelda Mendoza Spall

Sept 15 1954 – April 23 2019

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Imelda.

She was born to Cleofe and Anacleta Lunot in Manila where her father had a successful Refrigeration Business. She played the piano and was an accomplished Singer/Performer in the Philipines in the early 70’s,performing for such famous personalities as the dictator Mao Tse Tung,and Indonesian President Suharto at the Hilton Hotel in Manila. She sang in many clubs and venues, and was called the Julie Andrews of the Philipines.

She Immigrated to Canada with her brothers and sisters in 1974, where she became anurses aid, Marrying her loving husband Heinz Spall of Spall’s Upholstery in 1977.Dedicating her life to Homemaking in her later years, her hobbies included gardening, cooking, and baking.A kitchen that was always filled with love, good food, and the occasional song.

She is survived by her 2 sons, Roy and Mark, husband Heinz, her 7 siblings, Romy, (the late) Billy, Elpin, Ofelia, Elsa, Sonia, her cousin Marcelina, and numerous nephews and nieces, whose collective and continuing support sustains us through this difficult time.

May her Rose Garden bloom this year like never before.
