In Loving Memory

Iain (Argo) Gilmour

Oct 2, 1952 – March 30, 2020

Iain passed away Monday March 30, 2020 with his motherCathy and his wife Beckyby his side,he suffered a brain aneurysm (in August 2018) and has been in a care facility ever since. He was predeceased by his father Bill (Scotty). He will be remembered fondly by his 3 sons; Kyle (Jen); Keith (Despoina);andTorrey(Marielle); as well as many friends, associates and adopted family members.

He was born in Glasgow, Scotland and immigrated to Canada when he was 5 years old. He graduated from John Oliver High School in Vancouver and has lived in Surrey/Delta ever since. He grew his hair long in high school; He stayed true to himself to the very end. He said he didn’t grow it long for anyone but himself and he wasn’t going to cut it for anyone else either.

Iain’s life was the door industry. He was widely loved and respected by his family, friends, employees and coworkers.  He lived life to the fullest.Worked hard, played hard. He liked to be the loudest guy in the room. Not only did he want everyone to know he was there, he also wanted to make sure theywere having as good a time as he was. He wasgiftedwith the delivery of a joke and even when being obnoxious (more beer please) he could endear himself to servers and get what he wanted. He had a knack for putting a smile on everyone’s face.

On behalf of Iain, we would like to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff at Surrey Memorial and Laurel Place for all their support.

A celebration of life will be held at a later time.

I knew Iain only through work, but this has been for 15 years now. I was fond of him and we shared many great conversations when he visited our office, along with a few laughs as well. I will miss him! My condolences to his family along with my prayers.
