Harry Law

August 31, 1960 - May 8, 2025

Tribute

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Harry James Law at the age of 64. He passed on Thursday May 8, 2025 at Royal Columbia Hospital. He had suffered a massive heart attack that ultimately was too much for his heart to handle.
Born on August 31st 1960 to Virginia and James Law at Vancouver General Hospital, he was given the nickname Smokey Joe by the nurse who helped deliver him. He was given the nickname because of how smokey his eyes were, and he was known by the name his entire life, so much so there were a few people who believed his name was Joe. He grew up in North and South Burnaby, where he developed an insane love of soccer and became obsessed with Liverpool. He was known to be a bit of a shut-in but always managed to make friends wherever he went. Upon news of his passing, many people responded with “the lottery guy? He was so sweet!”. As an active Keno player, we were happy to hear his reputation reflected the man we knew and loved. He was also an avid reader and many of his books will be donated to local seniors homes.
Harry is survived by his brother Doug(Margaret), sister Heather(Darryl), Cousin June, Nieces Tiffany, Samantha(Andre), Nephews Josh(Kaspar), Russell, Jamie(Heather), many great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Sisters Patricia, and Janice, brothers Ed Myers, Richard Myers, and Gordon Law, Aunts Clara and Grace and Uncle Lawrence, cousins Tammy and Lisa Frieson, Linda and Jimmy Lineman.
In lieu of a service, we are asking everyone to raise a glass to Liverpool, and share in Harry’s memory. He will be very missed and forever loved.

Heather so sorry for your loss! As the little sister of 5 brothers, it feels so unfair that you have lost 4 of them – my sincere condolences!

From: Susan Boutilier
Relation: Friend of his Sister

I am so sad to learn of Harry’s passing. Although I haven’t see him in decades, I remember him as laid back, funny and kind. I send my deepest sympathies to the family, it’s never easy losing loved ones and especially someone so quickly and young.
