BOND, Harold LAWRENCE (Larry)
September 30, 1952 – May 6, 2026
Larry died on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 following a double lung transplant in 2020 and kidney failure in 2025. He is survived by his loving wife, Dianne, his sisters, Lorraine, Phyllis, Nancy (Don) and Frances (David), his brother-in-law, Danny (Miglena), and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Harold and Isobel, niece, Angela, brother-in-law, Roberto, mother-in-law, Gladys Macrae, and not to be forgotten, his beloved dog, Rocky, and cat, Jessie (AKA The Black Menace).
Born in Vancouver, Larry was the 1st of 5 children, followed by 4 sisters, so by default was the favourite son and much-loved favourite brother. He met his wife, Dianne when he answered an ad in the personal section of the Vancouver Sun; first meeting at Denny’s on Mother’s Day in 1986. They fell in love and married on May 27, 1989, settling in Coquitlam until two years ago when they moved to their much-loved house in Pitt Meadows.
Larry was an accomplished bridge and board game player, a passionate and enthusiastic student of all things tax related; serving as president of the Northwest Chapter of the Washington State Tax Consultants and long-time editor of their monthly newsletter. He ended his career as a lithographer with Pacific Press having served as a respected shop steward in the printing industry.
He cherished his wife, fur babies and family, always willing to come to this sister or that sister’s house for dinner and the occasional brunch.
Larry was a gentle giant, kind, loving and loyal to the end. He will be sorely missed.
Graveside service at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 15 at Hatzic Cemetery, 34867 Cemetery Avenue, Mission, BC. Celebration of Life following at 1:00PM at 12295 193 St., Pitt Meadows, BC.
