Glen Slater

March 29, 1929 - January 25, 2013

Tribute

Glen was born in Grand Forks, BC on March 29, 1929. He moved with his parents Henry and Mary and sister Josephine, where the family homesteaded on Silverhill  in Mission, in 1933. Glen married Jeanne M. Slater nee: Charles on May 21, 1955 in Mission, BC

Together Glen and Jeanne had 2 sons, Richard (Shirley) and Gary (Ann); and 4 grandchildren, Michael (Robbyn), James (Laura), Cameron and Emily.

Glen worked with machinery and drove logging truck over the years. He loved to dance in the earlier years, kicking up his heels at the Legion, and at home he liked to strum on his guitar. Glen and Jean both liked to garden together, taking pride in their tomatoes. Glen also had the gift of the gab, and you could always find him enjoying a cup of coffee at Rocko’s and A&W with his friends. He could really tell the stories, and had great knowledge of the working of machinery. Glen will be sadly missed.

Celebration of life open house will be held from 2pm – 4pm, Sat, Feb 9, 2013 at Bakerview Celebration Centre 34863 Cemetery Ave, Mission, BC. Online condolences and obituary available at www.bakerviewcrematorium.com

Sorry to see Glenn go, my condolences to all the family.

From: Laurie Hunter nee; Simpson

It was very sad to hear of the passing of Glen. As a child he visited our house and shop often. He could tell a story and make it much more interesting than the actual experience, as his ability to add the sound of any piece of equipment to his stories was legendary. It was always a pleasure to see him come to the house, he loved his coffee and seemed to enjoy life so much. The family will have many memories to comfort them through this loss.
