Gerhilde Bublitz
March 6, 1941 - July 23, 2026
Tribute
Gerhilde Rosemarie Bublitz went home to be with the Lord on July 23, 2026, in Delta, BC. Gerhilde was born to parents Friedrich Wilhelm Ritzowski and Gertrud Buttgereit in East Prussia. Her family had to flee East Prussia and spent time in a refugee camp in Denmark. She married Erhard Willi Bublitz in 1961 in Stuttgart, Germany and immigrated to Canada that same year. A loving mother of three children, she devoted her life to her family and to her faith. She enjoyed sewing when her children were little and made most of their clothes. She was a Bible Study Fellowship leader for many years.
Gerhilde is survived by her daughter Christine (Paul) and son Richard. She was predeceased by her beloved Erhard and her oldest daughter Brigitte.
Thank you to the amazing staff at Mountain View Manor for their kind and compassionate care of Gerhilde during her stay there.
A small graveside service for family and close friends will be held at Sunnyside Lawn Cemetery in Surrey at a future date. A Celebration of Life will also be held at a future date.

I am a niece from Germany. I had the opportunity to meet Gerhilde in person during a visit when our families were young. I offer my sincere condolences to Chris, Paul, and Richard on her passing.
The great dedication shown by Fred and Wendy in supporting her and the family allowed me to get to know her better in recent years. Gerhilde was a strong personality whom life asked a great deal of. Her unwavering trust in God and His wise guidance in all things accompanied her steadfastly along her life’s path—a journey that was certainly not always easy.
I will always cherish her memory in my heart.
