Tribute
GERALD (Jerry) DALBERT LADRET
Born in Cumberland, BC February 7, 1951
Passed into the presence of the Lord January 16, 2025
Jerry was pre-deceased by his mother Shirley and step-dad Henry and is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sharon, daughter Lisa (Mike), son Ryan, son Jeremy (Lisa), 11 grandchildren – Austin, Brooke, Jake, Jack, Evan, Logan, Colby, Aiden, Ashley, Brandon and Matthew as well as brothers Don (Jenny), Chris (Trina) and sisters Gail (Bill) and Cindy and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandpa, son, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He worked in the construction industry for over 30 years on projects from the Vancouver Public Library, Alex Fraser Bridge and Dr. Peters Aids Clinic to name a few. In 2004 he started his own business, JDL Home Repairs and Renovations which he was very passionate about until his retirement in 2015. Jerry and Sharon traveled extensively and enjoyed every new adventure making many memories along the way. He was very hard working all of his life and strived to provide the best life possible for his family. From his first diagnosis of prostate cancer in 2007 he fought 3 separate cancers valiantly over 17 plus years. The most recent cancer resulted in a major surgery in April 2024. He faced all his many health challenges with tenacity, a positive attitude and he never gave up. His final battle came to a peaceful passing holding the hand and looking right into the eyes of his life long love Sharon. Jerry, we will hold you forever in our hearts and our memories will sustain us in the difficult times ahead. We will find peace knowing you are resting in the arms of the Lord our Savior, rest in peace my love until we meet again on the stairway to heaven.

Jerry fought a battle against his illness for many years with such strength, courage and tenacity. Throughout it all he kept his great sense of humour and a ‘never give up’ attitude. He was a true blue genuine guy and he will be sorely missed. RIP my dear Uncle Jerry.
