Gerald Cyr

Tribute
It is with deep sadness that we announce that our father Gerald “Gerry” Joseph Cyr
passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the Surrey Memorial Hospital in Surrey British Columbia. Gerry was born on Feb 14,1940 in Saint-Hilaire, NB to the late Leonide and Azilda (St. Jarre) Cyr.
Gerry is survived by his wife Patricia (Pat) of 58 years, daughter Chantal, son Daniel
(Elissa), grand children Emma and Kyle, brothers Robert (Barb), Roger (Paula) and
Philip (Marilyn).
In addition to his parents, Gerry was predeceased by his infant sister Colette Cyr,
brother Renaldo (Jo) Cyr, and his brother Donald (Darlene) Cyr.
Gerry worked over 35 years for the Correctional Services of Canada as a Psychologist
both in Springhill Nova Scotia and Agassiz British Columbia. He loved weekend
getaways to his RV to relax and play pool. In retirement he enjoyed snow birding and
traveling much of the US with his RV.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to those that cared for him at Hilton Villa
Seniors Community and the staff at Surrey Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service will be held in Abbotsford BC at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church,
October 24, 2025, at 11:30am. Reception to follow.
