George Philip

November 5, 1955 - February 15, 2019

Tribute

George Philip was born in Trichinapally, India on November 5,
1955, to Mundakathil Philip George and Annie George. His parents
were believers in The Pentecostal Mission (TPM), and George
had early exposure to the apostolic doctrines.

In the early 1980s, George was baptized by Pastor T.V. Thomas
in the Tiruvalla center faith home. On June 30, 1986, he was married
to Selene Philip. God blessed them with a son, Finny, a year
after their marriage. To pursue employment, George and his family
moved to Doha, Qatar.

After living in Qatar for nearly eight years, despite having
good employment and close proximity to friends and family,
George was longing to move to a country where there was more
freedom to worship God.

In 1997 he immigrated to Canada and settled in Calgary. After
realizing that there was no fellowship, George was instrumental
in organizing regular meetings and arranged for periodic visits
by the Servants of God of the New Testament Church.

George and his family still had a desire to move to a location
where there were organized worship and a faith home. In 2001,
George relocated to Vancouver, Canada where he pursued his
passion of winning souls for Christ. He would often go for walks
around the neighbourhood carrying a large bundle of tracts in
various languages. The habit of evangelizing stayed with George
even as his health deteriorated.

In his last few years, George spent most of his time at home as
his eyesight and general health slowly declined. Even though the
pain and discomfort in his body grew, he would rarely utter a
word of complaint. He loved to spend his days listening to sermons
and interacting with his family. He especially loved to
spend time with his granddaughter, Eliza.

On Friday, February 15th, 2019, George peacefully entered into
the presence of the Lord while surrounded by his family. He is
survived by Selene, Finny, Deepa, and Eliza. We thank God for
the work He completed in his life.
