Tribute
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Garry Lynn Barnes of Langley,
BC. Garry passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Garry was one of two twin
boys born to Josephine (Laird) and William Barnes in Vancouver. Left to cherish his
memories are his loving, devoted wife of nearly 41 years, Ellen (Salkeld), half-sister
Marion Wells (Barnes), daughter Brenda Zatorski (Troy), step-children Debbie Baylie
(Steve), Burns Lepine, grand children Brandon Zatorski (Rochelle/Zachary), Christopher
Zatorski, Darren Zatorski (Allie), Danica Baylie, Connor Baylie, and great granddaughter
Emma Zatorski. Garry was predeceased by his parents, his half-sister Diane Dillon,
step-son Harry Lepine, first wife Betty Barnes (Elliott) and his best friend and twin
brother Barry Barnes. Our lives have changed forever with the passing of this big-
hearted, gentle man.
Garry started his family life in Powell River where he worked in the pulp mill and spent
summers on three boat fishing the Straight of Georgia before moving to Guildford where he took a position driving bus for BC Transit. Garry retired from there after 28 years then enjoyed working with Online Collision for a number of years before fully retiring.
Garry was a proficient handy man always with a project on the go or willing to plan and
work on projects with family or friends. He was a devoted friend and family man and
was known to “pop in” for a quick visit, always with a coffee and Timbits in hand. Garry
will be missed dearly by all who were fortunate enough to be part of his life. The
memories will bring smiles to our hearts and tears to our eyes. We love you, until we
meet again.
In lieu of flowers or monetary gifts, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation in his honor.
A Celebration of Life will be held August 23, 2025 from 2pm to 5pm at Fort Langley
Seniors Hall at 23022 88 th Ave, Fort Langley.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Garry for more than 40 years.
We may not have seen each other often in later years but when we did meet it was always like old times. My heart goes out to the loving family he left behind.💖 You will be missed Barney.,
