Allan Milton Hamilton
September 29, 1947 - November 22, 2021
Tribute
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Allan Milton Hamilton who passed away with his family by his side on November 22, 2021. Allan was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1947, but British Columbia was his home for the past 45 years.
Allan leaves behind Joan, his partner of 25 years, four loving sisters, Charlotte, Barbara, Donna and Frances, daughters Deneen (Michael), Alayna and Genesis, step-daughters Dawn and Nicole, step-grandchildren Skye and Devon, and grandson Tirus, all of whom will miss him dearly.
Allan was part of a large, extended, multi-generational family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, a niece, great-nephews and nieces, great-great nephews and nieces, and countless friends. Allan was known by many for his legendary sense of humour and quick wit. He was the life of the party, without being the centre of attention. Allan had an unique ability to connect with people and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His commitment to a personal code of honour garnered much respect. Allan was known as a “force to be reckoned with”.
Allan always knew how to cheer you up and bring a smile to your face. Allan used his love and knowledge of music to guide and help him through life’s ups and downs. He was loving and strong. Allan imparted indelible effects on peoples’ lives, who sought his support and advice.
His presence will be greatly missed. We would like to thank our
family and friends for their love and support and to give a special thank you of appreciation to the staff at Holmberg House for the wonderful work they do.
“Just move on up
For peace you will find
Into the steeple of beautiful people
Where there’s only one kind
So hush now, child
And don’t you cry
Your folks might understand you
By and by
Move on up
And keep on wishin’
Remember your dream is your only scheme
So keep on pushin’
Take nothing less
Than the supreme best
Do not obey rumors people say
‘Cause you can pass the test
Just move on up
To a greater day
With just a little faith, if you put your mind to it
You can surely do it” ~Curtis L. Mayfield
“One good thing about music, when it hits your feel no pain” ~ Bob Marley

I never saw my Uncle in his last days. But he asked to see a photo of me. I’m his God Son. That meant a lot to me. Now I have his favourite Steelers mug on display. I thank the Lord for bringing him to us, and thank the Lord taking care of him now.
