KATHLEEN ALICE JOHNSTON

July 19, 1914 – September 2, 2018

Kathleen (Kay) passed quietly and peacefully into the arms of her Lord on Sunday morning.

She will be lovingly remembered by her niece Kathy Key, in Toronto, and 3 Johnston nephews:

Milford, Donald and Kenneth in Nova Scotia, and by many friends on the west coast.

Kay was brought up on a farm in Bulwer, Quebec with 4 brothers. When Kay was 9 years old her mother died so she took over the housekeeping and cooking with the help of her brothers.

During WWII, Kay joined the RCAF and drove truck on home base in Winnipeg.

Then she transferred out to B.C. where she lived the remainder of her life.

She took nurses aid training and worked at Burnaby General Hospital for a few years, and then drove the Burnaby Library bookmobile for many years.

Kay enjoyed walking, pitch & putt, bowling and was very involved with her church family at West Burnaby United Church.

A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Jubilee United Church,

7591 Gray Avenue, Burnaby, BC.
